Finding the right maintenance offerings for your aircraft engine can be a complex matter. At this year’s NBAA-BACE in Orlando, Florida, the task got simpler for operators of Pratt & Whitney Canada-powered aircraft, with the launch of the company’s new Services Hub…
Back to ArticlesUsing NBAA-BACE in Orlando, Florida, as the ideal platform, Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has launched its new self-serve digital tool called the Services Hub.
The Services Hub has been designed to guide customers through the process of selecting the right P&WC maintenance services and solutions online, based on their engine and aircraft model – as well as its lifecycle stage.
There are more than 70 different tailored aftermarket offerings to support the P&WC-powered flying population of over 66,000 engines in service, and the Services Hub has been created to make choosing engine maintenance solutions and services simple and easy for owners and operators. Essentially, the company has taken pages of information and made it user-friendly, based on customer feedback.
“With a growing portfolio of offerings that support every stage of the engine lifecycle, we continue to find ways to make finding the right maintenance solutions for a customers’ engine and aircraft easy and seamless,” said Irene Makris, Vice President, Customer Service, P&WC.
“The Services Hub is a part of the ongoing aftermarket digital transformation at P&WC to enhance the customer experience.”
How it Works
With this user-friendly self-serve digital tool newly launched on the company’s website, customers are guided through a series of brief, simple questions identifying the aircraft and engine model, as well as the engine’s total time since entering service.
Based on the information the owner/operator inputs, the Services Hub will then show the most applicable maintenance solutions and services tailored to the customer’s engine and lifecycle stage, before pairing customers with a P&WC sales manager in their region.
“Acting as a personalized online ‘concierge’ for customers, the Services Hub enables them to rapidly filter and identify the products or services that are right for them,” said Makris.
“Another benefit of the tool is that it helps pair customers with a P&WC sales manager in their region, who can answer any further questions about our services and provide individual guidance.”
The new Services Hub responds to aviation customers’ demands for self-serve capabilities and digital resources that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, using a variety of digital devices.

Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 MRO to Open in Germany
Meanwhile, with recent milestones achieved as the PW812D and PW812GA move towards certification and entry into service aboard the Dassault Falcon 6X and Gulfstream G400, respectively, the PW800 family of powerplants is set to grow during the coming months and years.
In a logical move, Pratt & Whitney announced at NBAA-BACE that a second MRO facility for the PW800 family will open in Germany in 2024, in cooperation with MTU Aero Engines – a company Pratt & Whitney has collaborated with for more than three decades and on multiple projects.
The PW800 engine is already in service powering the Gulfstream G500 and G600 jets, which entered service in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
“This is another way we are striving to meet the MRO needs of our customers around the globe,” Makris explained. “We are delighted to be collaborating with MTU on this new MRO facility.”
Pratt & Whitney claims its PW800 engine family is the most modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible engine in its class, offering double-digit improvements in fuel burn, emissions and noise as compared to the current generation of engines.
“We always welcome the opportunity to expand our working relationship with Pratt & Whitney in our ongoing efforts to serve our common customer base,” added Dr. Ottmar Pfänder, SVP Commercial Programs, MTU Aero Engines.
“We have worked with Pratt & Whitney Canada on the PW300 engine family since 1985 and we also became involved in the PW800 at the development stage of the program. This new MRO facility will be located in Berlin-Brandenberg.”
