If you’re looking for a small pre-owned single-engine turboprop aircraft, the Piper Meridian may on your shopping list. Introduced in 2001, the Meridian remained in production until 2015, when the Piper M500 replaced it.

Over its production run, the Piper Meridian received two significant avionics upgrades. Models built from 2006 incorporated the Avidyne Entegra suite (replacing the previous Meggitt Magic avionics). This brought the Meridian’s flight panel into the glass cockpit era. Then, for models built from 2009, Piper replaced the Avidyne Entegra panel with Garmin G1000 avionics.

Buyers should pay attention to which avionics are installed on prospective Piper Meridians for sale. Older models may also have been upgraded and retrofitted with newer avionics.

AvBuyer Opinion: With its design based on the Piper Malibu, the Piper Meridian is a great step-up option for piston operators seeking the comfort and performance increase of a turbine aircraft. The Meridian is also an attractive option for those seeking a speedy, pre-owned single-engine turboprop with short field capabilities, and lower operating costs.
