The Pilatus PC-12NG, introduced by Pilatus in 2008, is a single-engined turboprop with a 1,200 shp PT6A-67P engine and a cabin seating up to 9 passengers. It is single-pilot approved and the NG model has the Honeywell Primus Epic flight deck. With its large cargo hatch, the PC-12NG is very flexible and also can operate from unprepared strips.
The Pilatus PC-12 NG costs between $3.95m (for a 2008 model) and $5.40m (for a 2020 model), according to Aircraft Bluebook’s Autumn 2022 data. These values represent the average retail price for a model year, however, there will be variation in prices, even between models with the same year of manufacture. The ultimate sale price is driven by a variety of factors, including an aircraft’s maintenance condition.
Other single-engine turboprop options include the Daher TBM 900, which carries five passengers and has a maximum range of 1,730nm.
The PC-12 NG successfully combines reliability, cost-effectiveness and efficiency. The aircraft’s avionics suite was specifically developed with the PC-12 NG in mind
The Pilatus PC-12 NGX was introduced in 2020, and incorporates an improved engine, smarter avionics and a completely redesigned cabin with larger windows. At the heart of the new PC-12 NGX is the PT6E-67XP turboprop engine by Pratt & Whitney Canada. This improved engine features an Electronic Propeller and Engine Control System, including Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) – a worldwide first in this market segment, according to Pilatus. In addition, the new propeller low speed mode results in a significant reduction in cabin noise, boosting passenger comfort. The new turboprop engine enables the PC-12 NGX to achieve a maximum cruise speed of 290ktas. The PC-12 NGX boasts a range of new features for the pilot as well, notably the Advanced Cockpit Environment (ACE) System by Honeywell.

The new PT6A-67P engine gives it more power than its predecessor, while the aircraft came with a completely new interior, designed by BMW Group Designworks USA.
What came before and after the PC-12 NG?
The PC-12NG is the fourth member of the aircraft family from Pilatus, following the original PC-12, the PC-12/45 and the PC-12/47, with each successive entry bolstering maximum take-off weight and adding a number of other improvements. The most modern variant is the PC-12 NGX, which succeeded the PC-12 NG in 2020.
