The EC155B1 from Airbus/Eurocopter is one of the Dauphin family but is very different to the AS365N being longer with a wider cabin to accommodate up to 14 passengers in high density or six in executive seats. The EC155, which has retractable gear and a tail Fenestron shrouded rotor, is powered by two 1,046 shp Turbomeca Arriel 2C2 engines with FADEC control.
A Eurocopter EC-155B1 costs between $3.10m for a 2003 model and $11.30m for a 2015 model, per Aircraft Bluebook’s Autumn 2022 data. These values represent the average retail for the respective model year. While the average retail price is a good guide, actual sale prices of individual aircraft may be above or below the average for the model year. Several helicopter-specific factors come into play when determining the fair market value for an aircraft, including the time on its engines and airframe, the maintenance condition, how long remains before the next major inspection is due, and much more. $3.10m $11.30m Autumn 2022 2003 2015
From among the different options in the Dauphin family, the Eurocopter AS 365N-3 is fairly comparable to the Eurocopter EC-155B1. The AS 365N-3 variant specializes in ‘hot and high’ operations. Similar to the EC-155B1, the AS 365N-3 has a range of just under 500 nautical miles, but can be fitted to seat seven passengers in VIP configuration
In its VIP configuration, the Eurocopter EC-155B1’s two wide, hinged doors replace the standard sliding doors, providing access to spacious storage compartments. Meanwhile, the cabin is fitted with improved soundproofing, and cabin equipment can be managed through touchscreen technology.
The EC-155 was the original production variant. It had two Turbomeca Arriel 2C1 engines, as opposed to the Turbomeca Arriel 2C2s used on the newer –B1 model.

What features does the Eurocopter EC-155B1 offer?

What came before and after the Eurocopter EC-155B1?
While the Dauphin family has been a strong presence mid-size, twin-engine turbine helicopter market since the 1970s, the introduction of the EC-155 model in 2000 provided something very different to earlier family members.
This is primarily due to its length and wide cabin compared to preceding family members. The EC-155 was replaced by the EC-155B1, which introduced upgraded powerplants.
Today, Airbus Helicopters and Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI), via a dedicated joint venture, are currently producing the EC-155B1 as the Airbus H155 with several improved features.
