The Global 5000 was developed by Bombardier based on the Global Express. It kept many of the best elements of the original model, but Bombardier shortened the fuselage and range in the case of the Global 5000.

Today, the Bombardier Global 5000 jet is one of the fastest-flying Large Jets in the market, while also boasting shorter runway performance than many other aircraft in its class. In production since 2005, the Bombardier Global 5000 utilizes a pair of Rolls-Royce BR710-A2-20 turbofan engines.

What does a Bombardier Global 5000 cost?

There are various items that could influence the asking price of a used Bombardier Global 5000. These might include the year of production, hours flown, flight cycles, avionics and the time remaining before any major maintenance events (such as engine overhauls and hot-section inspections), or simply an over- or under-supply of attractive models on the used aircraft market at any one time.

What’s the range and payload capability of the Bombardier Global 5000?

Comfortable long-distance flying is one of the strengths of the Bombardier Global 5000 and there are few missions it can't manage. According to Conklin & de Decker, the Global 5000 boasts a maximum range of 5,350nm with four passengers on board. With seats full, the Global 5000 can still cover just over 5,200nm.

And the Global 5000 is flexible. Available payload with full fuel is 2,930lbs, Conklin & de Decker notes. That means with a crew of three, plus eight passengers (with an average weight of 200lbs), an approximately 700lbs payload capacity remains available for luggage.

With a maximum cruise speed of 511kts, and a long-range cruise of 471kts, the Global 5000 can cover those distances in good time.

What are the cabin measurements for the Bombardier Global 5000? 

As we mentioned, the cabin of the Bombardier Global 5000 is shorter than that of the original Global Express, but the Global 5000 still delivers plenty of space for its cabin occupants.

With multiple seating zones, the Global 5000 can typically accommodate 13 executive seats in two club-four zones, facing seats to the aft of the cabin and a facing three-place divan. A galley is located opposite the entrance along with a crew lavatory, while a passenger lavatory is located at the back of the cabin.

Conklin & de Decker data states that the main cabin stretches 42.47ft, while the cross-section measures 6.25ft high and 8.17ft wide. The total cabin volume of 1,889cu.ft – and 195cu.ft internal baggage space is incorporated.

What is the Bombardier Global 5000 Jet’s airport performance?

The Bombardier Global 5000 boasts better runway performance than most in its class. According to Conklin & de Decker, its balanced field length – on a standard day, at sea level and at its 92,500lbs maximum take-off weight – is 4,960ft. Stated landing distance, meanwhile, is 3,667ft.

The balanced field length basically reflects being able to accelerate to V1 take-off speed, have an engine fail and reject the takeoff to stop in the balance of the distance calculated at maximum gross weight.
