The Dassault Falcon 900LX is the current production model in the famous Falcon 900 Large Jet family, and has become a significant presence in the long-range market since its certification in 2010. As with the rest of the Falcon business jet line, Dassault emphasizes the jet’s technological prowess, partly based on the company’s history in developing fighter aircraft.

The Falcon 900LX costs between $19m for a 2010 model up to $44m for a 2022 model, according to Aircraft Bluebook’s Autumn 2022 data. These prices represent the average retail price, by model year. Individual aircrafts’ values could be more or less than the average, since the sale price of an aircraft is determined by many factors that are specific to the aircraft, including its maintenance condition and the completeness of its log books, etc.
There are a number of aircraft in the Large Jet market that compete with the Falcon 900LX, including the Bombardier Challenger 650 and the Gulfstream G450.
Dassault emphasises the quiet cabin of the Falcon 900LX, which is the quietest in the Falcon 900 range. This is thanks to advanced acoustical insulation, leveraging approaches adapted from the Falcon 7X and Falcon 8X aircraft. The aircraft also features FalconConnect, offered in partnership with Honeywell GoDirect. This is a wide-ranging connectivity package, including cockpit safety communications like the Future Air Navigation System (FANS) and high-speed Ka-band satellite communications services, offering the highest quality of passenger cabin connectivity, from video-conferencing to email.
There are a number of improvements installed on the Falcon 900LX, compared with the 900EX EASy – notably the addition of High-Mach Blended Winglets, which boost wingspan and lift. Drag is reduced, according to Dassault, providing the ability to fly for longer distances on less fuel. This creates a maximum range of 4,750nm for the Falcon 900LX (some 250nm greater than its predecessor).

The Falcon 900LX’s trijet configuration, utilizing Honeywell TFE731-60 engines, provides safety and economical benefits, while the aircraft boasts a new interior sharing modern design elements with the Falcon 7X and Falcon 8X. The cabin of the Falcon 900LX is aimed at offering the highest levels of passenger comfort.
According to JETNET data, as of September 2022, Dassault had delivered 87 Falcon 900LX jets to customers around the world.
What features does the Dassault Falcon 900LX offer?
The Falcon 900LX can carry up to 16 passengers, though usually it is configured for fewer people, allowing for a roomier cabin. The aircraft has an EASy II Flight Deck, featuring Honeywell’s Primus Epic System.
The FalconEye combined vision system is also available, allowing pilots to see terrain and other features at night time and in foggy conditions. And, the Falcon 900LX is also equipped with FalconBroadcast, which automatically sends diagnostic data to the ground, facilitating a faster response to maintenance issues whenever they may arise.
What came before and after the Dassault Falcon 900LX?
The Falcon 900LX is the leading edge of today’s Falcon 900 brand, and provides a significant upgrade on its predecessor, the Falcon 900EX EASy (which ceased production in 2010), when the Falcon 900LX was certified. The Falcon 900LX has not been succeeded by a further update, and remains in-production today.
