AIRFRAME

This Corsair has 9,110 hours Total Time as of 08/17/2022. Logs indicate this airplane has always been based in the US but it has been flown to Europe. The airplane has been well maintained with complete logs and underbelly skin replacement after gear up about 25 years ago. The beauty of this is that it was ferried with loaner engines & props to a repair facility hundreds of miles away where they utilized parts from 425 serial #237 to complete the repair. I have personally flown this 425 for 10 years & 1600 hours and I've found it to be a straight & true machine. I've spent over 10,000 hours in 400 series Cessnas and I like the wide-oval cabin's elbow room. Newly overhauled flow pacs and a new door seal provide excellent pressurization and holds 5.0 well into the 20,000' levels. Painted last year an overall Snow White with Midnight Blue & Silver trim, it's a pretty airplane with a beautiful flow of lines anyway, that was enhanced using Scheme Design. A handy Rudder Gust Lock for windy ramps, Royal Atlantic Landing & Recognition Lights do away with the need to worry about extending landing lights at high speed. Tanis Engine Heaters (I've used these many times for a no-worries start in the wintery north). Pilot's heated Glass windshield/anti-ice. Co-pilot windshield replaced 10/2011. Concorde RG380E Lead Acid battery conversion. Freon Air Conditioning, Rosen Sun visors, new Digital Torque gages with all new placards in place inside & out. SIDs complete. These Conquest ones are beautiful airplanes that cruise right along side 200 king airs on 30 gallons an hour less fuel. One could upgrade the instrument panel but this one will guide you to the same minimums until you decide to replace it. If you don't get this one, find another one because these are sweetheart airplanes to fly.

ENGINES

Pratt & Whitney PT6A-112, 450 SHP marries well with this 400 series airframe by Cessna. These are the original engines on this aircraft with a total of 9,110 hours as of August 2022. Northstar Turbines of Stroud, OK did the overhauls 2000 hours ago & Corsair Turbines did the Hot Sections in Feb 2020. While the HSI's were in progress Jordan Propellers out of San Antonio overhauled these Black Mac McCauley 4 blades. The airplane has been professionally flown for the past 20 years that I know of and has a few years to go before TBO (1500 hours away).

APU

I RARELY USE A GPU FOR START AND THE BATTERY HAS LASTED 4 OR 5 YEARS EACH TIME.

WEIGHTS

Less than 5,500 lbs empty weight. 8600 lbs gross weight is standard for this airframe. As with most airplanes the fuel weight & pay load have to be juggled for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintenance & Inspections
Recent history dates back to Yingling then Midcontinent Maintenance where we had the major inspections done for a decade because they used to own a fleet of 425s. Then with a new owner we had Broadies Aircraft @ Fort Worth Meacham do the 2, 3, D last September (with a new set of eyes on the airplane). There have been no major issues with the airplane during all the time I've flown it and, I would love to keep flying it but the owner needed something bigger and faster, so here we are. I know whoever gets it will grow to love this bird as much as I have.
  • AVIONICS & CONNECTIVITY
What can I say about this equipment? I've flown the Garmin GPS ever since they came out, I'm a Garmin fan. I've flown both digital and analog. Collins is hard to beat. These companies that produce our navigation equipment today have provided a stable instrument platform. I've been fortunate to only have had minor problems. This panel has brought me to minimums dozens of times in this airplane in the US & Mexico.

  • Interior & Entertainment
It's a beautiful interior, but of course that's a matter of opinion & taste. It's new, it's clean, it's well done and it should last for more than a few years of wear & tear. The seats (Mid Grey), side panels (Indigo), headliner & window panels were recovered with new leather. Crew seats are recovered with new sheepskin and leather trim. Rewebbed Seat belts & shoulder harness inertial reels. Installed new Red Rock Slate carpet and pad in cabin and nose baggage compartment. Recovered headliner and window panels with new Tapes Ultra-Leather Classic Grey. Removed existing plastic laminate from cabinets, partitions and card tables and installed new Laminart Refined Wood.
  • EXTERIOR
The airplane was chemically stripped of all old paint. All external corrosion was removed. Acid etched and treated aircraft skin. It was noted that the airplane was very clean, meaning there were no patches of visible damage or repair. Primed with epoxy and applied polyurethane topcoat. Primed and painted interior of nose baggage compartment. Installed PM-54 radome erosion boot. Base color is Jet Glo Express Snow White. Split Base Color is Acry Glo Midnight Blue. 1st stripe color is Acry Glo Silver Metallic & 2nd stripe color is Jet Glo Express Snow White. All new external placards were reinstalled on the airframe during the 2, 3, D inspections that followed.
